Informatics is the heart of the modern information society and a major engine for Germany’s future economic competitiveness. It always makes new products possible, constantly has to deal with new safety aspects and, last but not least, is also important for sustainable and environmentally friendly developments. People are at the forefront of all these developments. Only those who also deal with the needs and the applications with and at the human being can contribute to this development substantially. The networking with other disciplines such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or also cultural sciences, but also the co-operation with politics and economics is natural for a modern computer science.
