A strong foundation in computer science and interdisciplinary combination of many disciplines of information technology provides an excellent basis for your education. The university wants to achieve even more: it wants to advance the scientific-technological development of the information society and wants to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the information and knowledge society.
The University has a focus on the study of sciences and cultural studies. The original institution was founded in 1614. There are five faculties and 67 degree programs. With over 7,500 students the Faculty of Cultural Sciences is the largest.
The population is around 150.000 and it is in North Rhine-Westphalia. It is one of the most important centers of the computer science industry in Germany. The German computer pioneer Heinz Nixdorf had a great impact on the city. He has a museum named after him, which is the 7. Biggest computer museum in the world. A historical town center, an old castle, a wide range of cultural activities, plenty of green areas and hiking trails make it a very attractive place to live.

This program gives you the methodical and technical competence to independently analyze new problems in a dynamic economic environment and to make scientifically sound decisions.
The aim of this 4-semester Master’s program is to give you the opportunity to acquire a theoretically and methodologically sound specialist knowledge in various areas of business administration. As a student, you should have the opportunity to put together the course contents largely independently according to your needs and professional goals. You choose profile-forming business administration modules from the following departments
- Taxation, Accounting & Finance
- or Business Information Systems and
- Method modules and integration modules from a non-business focus.
Cooperative learning environments prepare you for challenging management tasks in business and administration or for entry into a structured doctoral program. A special feature of the universities Master’s program is the possible focus on Taxation, Accounting and Finance. By completing 50 ECTS, as well as the thesis in this area, students can prove a specialization on their diploma.
The Master’s program in Business Administration impresses with the teaching and application of sophisticated economic models, empirical methods, optimization methods and IT competence in combination with management know-how and professional competence. Orientation towards the problems of practice and the use of new scientific methods are characteristics of our excellent Master’s program.
