The consecutive, scientifically interdisciplinary Master’s program in Medical Biology is aimed at graduates of the Bachelor’s program in Medical Biology and at graduates of similar Bachelor’s programs.
A sound knowledge of biomedicine and modern molecular biological methods are required for this Master’s program.
The four semester study period is divided into a theoretical and a practical phase. After a short orientation an individual specialization with a high proportion of practical laboratory work takes place.
Students can choose from a variety of newly designed courses and complete their internships in modern, newly equipped internship and research laboratories. Internships and the final Master’s thesis, supervised working groups, provide students with an intensive insight into research.
The aim of the training is to qualify students to plan and carry out experiments independently, to assess the significance of different methods for their own questions, to familiarize themselves with new methods and subject areas independently, to apply and transfer existing knowledge and to formulate project goals independently. Graduates are thus just as well prepared for a possible entry into a doctorate as they are for professional life.
