In the Master’s program, students acquire the necessary specialist knowledge, skills and methods in an education related to the general and scientific professional world, taking into account the changes and requirements in the professional world. They are enabled to carry out scientific work, to critically classify scientific findings and to act responsibly. In particular, the course imparts knowledge and skills that enable students to work successfully in the healthcare industry and related fields. Taking into account the requirements and changes in the professional world, the students should be enabled to independently contribute to the solution of such problems through the application of findings in the field of health economics and to critically classify the scientific findings. The research-oriented course of studies aims in particular to enable students to work at the interface between science and management practice in health care. The potential occupational fields in the Health Economics degree program include junior positions in economic and, in particular, health economics research, lecturer positions in health care associations, management functions in health care facilities, positions in consulting institutions, staff positions, process and quality management in physician networks, medical care centers or integrated care. The passed Master’s examination entitles the holder to a doctorate.
