Then this program offers you the opportunity to find solutions to previously unsolved physical problems. You will quickly notice that in physics it is not important to memorize. It is much more important to analyze and structure data and facts critically, to recognize laws and to establish connections. Physical research is based on a constant interplay between theoretical considerations and calculations as well as experimental experiments and careful observation. It is often a matter of designing theories about the laws of nature and testing them in experiments or, conversely, of theoretically explaining the results of experiments or observations.
In the Bachelor’s program you will receive a basic scientific education in experimental and theoretical physics. They learn to apply analytical and experimental methods to concrete problems in physics and to develop solutions. The Faculty of Physics and Astronomy always works at the pulse of time. Research and teaching are closely linked and new scientific developments flow directly into our courses. You will learn how to solve new tasks and how to keep up with new research results. In the first semesters you will acquire knowledge and skills in the fields of mechanics, thermodynamics, electrodynamics, optics, vibrations and waves, atomic physics and quantum mechanics.
