Mechanical engineers can expect a wide range of activities: there are the classic areas of application in design, production, research and development, project planning, sales and many other individual areas. In recent years, however, we have been looking primarily for engineers who are not so much specialists in detail as managers for technical questions and problems in large contexts. The course of studies was designed with the possibilities of versatile professional commitment in mind. Team spirit and the formation of constructive working groups are of great importance, and test results are presented as a team in the laboratory internships. Close cooperation is intensively promoted in tutorials and small groups. In ultra-modern laboratories, a CIP island with over 80 state-of-the-art PC workstations and free WLAN in the buildings, learning and research at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is also exemplarily supported by the infrastructure. Stays abroad are an integral part of their studies, whether in Shanghai, Great Britain, Sweden or Istanbul – more than 40 partner universities in European and non-European countries are available. From the 5th semester onwards, students will specialize in a chosen specialization area, and in the specialization areas they will have the opportunity to develop their own unique profile through numerous options.
