The tasks of geoenvironmental protection exist worldwide and increasingly, e. g. due to an increase in population and the destruction of functioning geosystems as a result of climate change (e. g. floods, flood catastrophes, landslides) or as a result of underground and surface traffic facilities.
The course Geoenvironmental Engineering trains an engineer who is able to work interdisciplinary in the fields of geotechnics, applied geology and environmental technology. In his first year, he teaches the basics of mathematics and natural sciences, mainly on the basis of lectures and exercises. In the second year, further basic modules on geology, civil engineering and technical mechanics as well as business administration and law follow. In the third academic year, the specialist knowledge is further deepened in the following areas:

- Applied Geosciences
- environmental protection technology
