Electrical engineering is one of the most important economic sectors in Germany, covering the classic fields of energy supply, automation technology, telecommunications and circuit technology. The change in industry under the digitization of industry and Industry 4. 0 and the energy revolution have once again significantly increased the importance of electrical engineering. For the processing and transmission of digital data, solutions from telecommunications and high-frequency technology are required. Future autonomous systems in industry and traffic require research in measurement, control and automation technology, and the course is intended to provide the basics for researching and developing modern technologies for the digitized world.
The aim is that technical systems can be designed with optimal behavior. This requires a basic knowledge of mathematics, physics and technology, which is taught especially in the first 3 semesters. In the following semesters, more content with methodological competence will be taught and elective courses will give students the opportunity to choose their own focus. In the last two semesters, internships and a thesis (scientific work) are also planned. A successful degree should open up the possibility of a consecutive Master’s degree and later a doctorate
