The three-year B. Sc. course is independent and professionally qualified. The degree of the program is called Bachelor of Science (B. Sc. ) in Geography. It guarantees a broad, theoretically sound and methodically oriented education with current contents in order to meet the requirements of professional practice. For example, students who do not wish to pursue further scientific education can enter the work market after just three years. Alternatively, a Master’s program can be directly connected. The course concentrates on geography and disciplines of geology, chemistry, physics, botany and economics are directly integrated into the course through modules. From the third semester onwards, a first focus can be set in the elective area. In addition to specialist training, key qualifications such as the ability to work in a team, methodological competence and handling specific IT applications, as well as a professionally oriented internship, are firmly integrated into the course of studies. A part of the geography study is a several-day excursion within Germany or to a foreign country. The preparation for the profession also includes a geographical internship.
